The lists of books show locations in Chatham City Schools. These books have sexually inappropriate or confusing gender concepts or content, some including self harm, suicide, violence, and/or racism. No data base is available to determine whether or not classrooms may contain these books. Therefore, we encourage citizens to ask teachers and administrators if these books are present or being used for instruction of any kind.
The Chatham County Schools website at one time had instructions for using student IDs to obtain a public library card that would enable students to access ebooks through the public library using an app called Sora. We do not know if parent permission was or is needed to complete this process. We do not know what safeguards are in place to protect children from reading graphic material.
